For 2010/11 applications are invited for
- 4 Senior Research Fellowships
for tenured Professors in the field of History and/or allied disciplines and
- 3 Junior Research Fellowships
for post-doctoral researchers in the field of History and/or allied disciplines.
Candidates for Senior Fellowships should have an outstanding record in international acade-
mia with a high-ranking publication profile. Applicants for Junior Fellowships should be ex-
ceptional young researchers with a highly promising Ph.D. in addition to further publications.
Fellowships do not entail any teaching obligations. However, Junior Fellows wishing to do so
may teach within the University and can also further qualify at the Faculty of Philosophy of
All fellowships start on October 1, 2010. They will be remunerated according to the German
professorial system, depending on the candidate’s profile and qualification. Senior Fellow-
ships and Junior Fellowships are usually for one year. All FRIAS Fellows are expected to re-
side in Freiburg.
Applications including CV, list of publications, two letters of reference (only for Junior Re-
