In particular, the role of the financial sector for growth and development of emerging countries has been in the focus of quantitative and qualitative research. The purpose of the is to gather scholars working on financial development (e.g. development of banks, central banks and financial markets) and economic development (e.g. growth and structural change) in Southeastern Europe to get new, challenging and exciting insights into the links between the financial sector and the real economy. Quantitative and qualitative research as well as national case studies and cross-country comparative work can be presented at this conference.
