Appel à contribution - Information
The conference raises problem inherent in-built heritage, which is its deterioration over time. Throughout its existence, built cultural heritage is exposed to numerous external threats (destruction, alteration, vandalism, etc.) and internal threats (wear and tear, deterioration, unhealthy conditions, etc.). This invaluable, non-renewable resource needs to be carefully documented and archived. What is the relevance and role of digitisation technologies in these practices? What technological tools do people have at their disposal to access built cultural heritage? What techniques are already being used for this purpose?

Reading reuse. Image recycling in Egypt and beyond

Educational organizations all over the world have been forced to the immediate shift in their systems and practices to online education (OE) because of the disruptions and disjuntures that the crisis situation of the global covid-19 pandemic has created. Hence, the main aim of this conference is to provide insights into the effective adoption of OE in universities in Algeria and around the world. This would support universities educational policies, contribute to a scientific understanding of the adoption of OE and share research findings related to the conference theme with global experts.

The conference “Other times, Other Spaces” explores history (time and space) as something in constant transition, something in the making here and now. The world has witnessed wars, pandemics, and natural and man-made disasters. Today, we are more than ever threatened by climate change, depletion of resources, devastating pandemics, and disparities between the rich and the poor, North and South and West and East. The fears of the past are haunting the present, our here and now. Radical transformations are taking place across the world. Human relations are atomized, fragmented, alienated, and yet, paradoxically, consolidated by disasters and calamities such as the current Covid-19 pandemic. As a result, our perceptions of the world and humanity are being rethought and reshaped every day.

Perspectives on Women’s Autobiographies from Africa and the Diaspora
This international conference aims to examine the autobiographies of women from Africa (during colonial and post-colonial periods) and the Diaspora to shed light on the meaning and significance of the various messages conveyed through those texts. Although there is an abundance of autobiographical texts by these women, many remain unknown to the general public. From that angle, the conference is positioned as a real prospect to further bring those half- veiled writings to public's attention. As such, the conference intends to bring together scholars, researchers, experts and doctoral students, in human and social sciences, as well as in languages and arts, affiliated to universities, research centers, NGOs and civil societies in Africa and around the world. Their objective is to present and discuss women's autobiographical writings from Africa and the Diaspora from a multidisciplinary perpective.

Old excavations, new data: the use of archives in current archaeological research projects
This session will welcome papers presenting other case-studies of archaeological projects integrating an in-depth use of archive materials. Authors are invited to address issues such as: the scientific use of archival information: how the data from past research are integrated in the current production of knowledge? The organisation of research projects: who led the projects, and what division of labour between archaeologists, historians or archivists are at stake? Publication policy: to which audience (scientific, laypeople) and in which journals the results of projects combining new and old archaeological data are addressed?

ddh20 : Data and Digital Humanities 2020
The digital humanities offer a particularly rich research field of studies for data processing, apart from those of the hard sciences and the social sciences. Indeed, the humanities are rarely subject to privacy principles (privacy by design, GDPR…) that affect most social science works and are not just about digital or binary data. Moreover, in DH the data pre-exist and are most often already known if they are not collected and formalized. In this specific context, we propose in this track to question the practices resulting from the constitution of corpus and uses of data in humanities.

Rethinking Academic Paradigms
Human knowledge ranges from pure science to pure myth. In between lies a broad gamut of conceptually different cognitive experiences and patterns of perception which represent the world in visions and theories. The authority to produce and authenticate/validate knowledge, that which allows for theoretically informed descriptions and explanations of the nature of any given social, cultural or linguistic phenomenon, however, has for years been a contested privilege among academics and field practitioners from myriad disciplines. Over-specialization, a by-product of the proliferation of fields of expertise in academia, presented itself for most of the second half of the twentieth century as a legitimate substitute for holistic knowing and thinking. This reductionist, atomistic doctrine yielded countless fields of study which acted as self-sufficient repositories of knowledge, outmoding Western philosophical, anthropological, linguistic and sociological traditions.

9th International Conference on Human System Learning
Nowadays and more than ever, learning and teaching paradigms look to tightly depend on the advances in various information and communication technological (ICT) domains such as: e-learning, distance learning, machine learning, HCI, social networking, augmented reality, virtual reality, serious game, cloud computing, crowd sourcing, ... Considering, as fact, the use of information and communication spaces and tools, has allowed practitioners, researchers and users to re-debate and to re-question some dogmatic phenomenon’s involved in teaching and/or learning process. ICT protocols have also changed interrelations and distances between learning and teaching systems. The nonstop using of ICT has lead to the emergence of some unforeseen Alternative Learning Systems Alternative Learning System could be considered in this conference as the in progress learning hybrid space that includes innovative approaches related to knowledge transferring, acquisition and discovering. The 9th international conference on human system learning will be focused mainly on advances and experiences related to alternative learning systems design.
