  Sport Tourism and Local Sustainable Development

  The Dynamics of Action Sports and Cultural Perspectives

  The increase in nature, freestyle or alternative activities since the 1970s in Europe and North America has been the subject of numerous studies. From recreational activities to outdoor sports, numerous definitions have emerged, provoking intellectual debate in France and internationally. Thus, these “action sports” have emerged as a collection of cultural forms shared both by the world of “sport” and that of “alternative” practices, further interrogating the growing sportivization of physical practices worldwide. Our understanding of culture must take these social practices into account.

  Accounting Professions in the Arab Region

  Beyond Standardization: Professionel Dybnamics and Challenges

  Arab countries are confronted, like other countries, to the pressure of standardization, but each one of them is responding from the back ground of its particular history. In such a framework, accounting professions have developed, are regulated, have built professional organizations and training institutions, and are now pressed to adopt international standards. International audit firms tend to impose their methods and model with the expansion of transnational corporation, the multiplication of joint ventures and franchised colmpanies. Beyond cultural gaps, historical evolution and political-economic features, reforms are being designed universally, under the pressure of the World Bank. A better understanding of the accounting profession, of practitioners aims and stakes, can point a way forward. The aim of this project is to discuss these issues in the Arab countries, and to contribute by so doing to a new vision of what is at stake in the recent upheavals they have witnessed.

  The ultimate purpose of the International Congress on Desert Economy – Dakhla, is to be a scientific and multidisciplinary platform on desert and Sahara economy development, in order to contribute effectively to the good governance and in the sustainable development of desert regions, by stimulating meetings between all stakeholders on a global scale, with a view to fostering cooperation and partnership, among (Sahara) desert countries (Africa, the Gulf States, the United States of America, China, Australia...), with the aim of creating a conducive environment to the exchange of experiences, expertise and innovation, around themes related to desert and Sahara economy development, such as: Tourism and travel industry, agriculture, renewable energy, raw materials, transportation and logistics, sea and ocean economy, technology and innovation,  entertainment and sport economy, cultural and intangible heritage, nature and environment.
