  Un nouvel agencement ?

  En sciences sociales, la genèse des nations a souvent été analysée suivant deux versants : le State-building désigne le processus par lequel un peuple construit son autonomie politique en formant un État en mesure de défendre ses intérêts ; le Nation-building désigne plutôt les politiques à travers lesquels les gouvernements homogénéisent leur population en lui donnant une culture commune. L’objet de la journée d’étude de l’AFSR est d’interroger la place de la religion en croisant ces deux perspectives.

  Quand l'art dévoile les problèmes de société

  Blaise Pascal était à la fois, un scientifique reconnu et un auteur de talent, une palette de compétences complémentaires, appréciée et alors facilement admise de tous. L’évolution de la société a conduit à ce que, petit à petit, culture académique et culture artistique soient séparées, limitant de facto des interactions entre ces deux domaines. Actuellement, de nombreuses initiatives visent à renouer les fils qui les unissaient et à créer de nouvelles synergies entre art et recherche. C'est le cas du projet Voilées qui, associant recherche, création artistique et cinématographique dans une démarche commune, a l'ambition, en partant d'un point de cristallisation, d'ouvrir les perspectives et d'interroger les a priori. Ce colloque est l'occasion de rendre compte de cette recherche action spécifique menée en sciences de l'information et de la communication, mais aussi et surtout d'élargir la réflexion à l'ensemble des sciences sociales.

  Social Networking in Cyber Spaces

  European Muslim's Participation in (New) Media

  The increasing growth of the Internet is reshaping Islamic communities worldwide. Non-conventional media and social networks such as Facebook and Twitter are becoming more popular among the Muslim youth as among all parts of the society. The new channels of information and news attract new Muslim publics in Europe. The profile of the people using these networks range from college students to Islamic intellectual authorities. Such an easy and speedy way of connecting to millions of people across the globe also attracts the attention of social movements, which utilize these networks to spread their message to a wider public. Many Muslim networks and social movements, political leaders, Islamic institutions and authorities use these new media spaces to address wider Muslim and also non-Muslim communities, it is not uncommon that they also address and reach certain so-called radical groups.

  Identity, Religion and Ethnicity

  New Patterns, Realities and Pitfalls

  The workshop will analyse the interaction and the interpenetration of nationality, ethnicity and identity through the problematic of transnationalism, globalization and nation-state perspectives. The workshop will be supplemented by practical visits to local communities. Participants are invited to consider the theoretical debates and issues in differing local areas with a variety of social practitioners and representatives to gain further insights of demographic, economic, philosophic, legal and socio-anthropological approaches.

  A revista Forum Sociológico foi fundada em 1992, tendo como primeiro Director o Prof. Moisés Espírito Santo. Actualmente, a revista é uma publicação do recém-criado Grupo de Trabalho Mundos Sociais, Trajectórias e Mobilidades do Centro de Estudos em Sociologia da Universidade Nova de Lisboa (CESNOVA).
