Tourism 3.0. Intangible cultural heritage at the heart of the tourist experience
Intangible Cultural Heritage. New experiences, new horizons
Intangible heritage is becoming increasingly important in the proposal of tourism. This has been accentuated because of the pandemic, as it has provoked a movement towards local cultures and proximity tourism. In this sense, it is necessary to consider issues such as tourism management, the use of new technologies and the perception of authenticity, among others, to ensure a sustainable future for tourist destinations.

(In)formal knowledge circulation, information seeking practices and support communities
Individuals and families are increasingly reliant on information and communication technologies for their daily needs, activities, and socialization. Apart from rapid push to Internet-based communication brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, all levels of government have been ‘dematerializing’ administrative procedures for some time. Couples, parents, children, and other family members use the Internet to navigate certain formalities and get access to practical information regarding, for example, heath care, schooling, or marriage. This multidisciplinary special issue of Family Relations examines the role of the Web as a human and bureaucratic-legal support tool for “doing family” and providing services for families around the world.

Appel à contribution - Afrique
Africa narrates itself: media, opinions, influential figures
These days communication and information are characterized by immediacy, speed, and interactivity. Facebook and Instagram accounts, YouTube channels, and blogs transmit a perpetual flow of information, shared videos, pictures, and other content which creates networks and incentivizes sharing in a constantly evolving language. Contemporary mass media therefore ensures that, today more than ever, people in African countries are at the same time autonomous producers and users of a debate, through partly traditional, partly innovative channels, about life in Africa and African communities’ identity, with a tale that travels across the borders of individual countries and the continent itself.

Data-driven policies, markets and societies
Algorithms are increasingly used, both by States, market actors and citizens, for the purpose of profiling. Through big data analysis and inference techniques, an attempt is made to better understand, predict and, in certain cases, prevent citizen behaviour. Data analysis techniques are deployed in many sectors of society, from cyber-security and police investigations to judicial decision-making, from product customization and personalisation to marketing strategies and targeted advertising, from self-monitoring to lifestyle improvement. For this conference, we invite researchers, experts and practitioners from different backgrounds to reflect upon the legal, ethical and social implications of data-driven policies, market transactions and quantified-self techniques. We welcome empirical, theoretical and philosophical contributions regarding profiling, prediction and prevention.
