Abstract
Aswat, festival for Creation and Alternative Scientific Writings in the Arab World, is conceived as a meeting place between research, sound and visual creation communities, and a wider public, َAswat aims to show and discuss works made by/with researchers from all disciplines as well as documentary filmmakers working in and on the Arab world.

IRD Lebanon, Ifpo and IESAV organize Aswat, festival for Creation and Alternative Scientific Writings in the Arab World, in Beirut from November 23 to 26, 2022.
Conceived as a meeting place between research, sound and visual creation communities, and a wider public, َAswat aims to show and discuss works made by/with researchers from all disciplines as well as documentary filmmakers working in and on the Arab world.
In addition to three evenings of public screenings dedicated to the films and sounds that will be selected by the committee, a series of workshops led by audio-visual professionals at the Institute of Scenic, Audiovisual and Cinematographic Studies at Saint Joseph University in Beirut will offer space for discussion on ongoing film and sound works with the students and the public.
Submission guidelines
Sound- and documentary filmmakers are invited to submit their films or sound works proposals
before July 31, 2022
in accordance with the following procedures:
For proposals for films and sound creations to be screened in the evening:
- completed film (online preview link)
OR sound (15’ max)
- Technical file of the film including:
- Original title (translation into French/english/Ar)
- names of director(s) and crew, length, format, year of production
- summary
- short bio of the director(s)
For the workshops (works in progress):
- Film or sound (15’ max)
- intent statement and/or production file
