EUROPAST Mid-Project Conference

Abstract
The EUROPAST consortium now welcomes applications for its 2024 Mid-Project Conference titled Public History and Community-Based Research, which will take place on 5-6 July 2024. The conference will be hosted by the Luxembourg Centre for Contemporary and Digital History (C²DH, University of Luxembourg). Participants will enjoy an international and multicultural environment in the heart of Western Europe.

In close collaboration with the Leibniz Centre for Contemporary History (ZZF) Potsdam, the Joint Faculties of Humanities and Theology (Lund University), and the Centre for Contemporary and Digital History (C²DH, University of Luxembourg), the Institute of International Relations and Political Science, Vilnius University, is leading a three-year Horizon Twinning project "Facing the Past. Public History for a Stronger Europe". The project aims to explore the theory and practice of engaging citizens in the coproduction and communication of the past in the digital age.

Participants will enjoy an international and multicultural environment in the heart of Western Europe.
The EUROPAST mid-project conference aims to gather scholars and practitioners with an interest in Public History and Community-Based research. Proposals covering a wide range of community-based public history practices from different disciplines are welcome. Proposals may address (but are not limited to) the approach, definition, methodology, challenges and impact of public history and community-based research. Each applicant needs to submit a short biography (maximum 500 characters spaces included) and an abstract (maximum 1,000 characters spaces included).
The conference and presentations will be in English. All presentations will take place on-site.
Submission guidelines
The results of the CFP will be announced on Friday, 8 March 2024. There is no participation fee. The organisers will provide accommodation support for presenting participants.
