Abstract
This issue focuses on contemporary transformations in law, political science, international relations, governance, and state-society relations. It welcomes original and rigorous research, particularly through theoretical, empirical, comparative, and interdisciplinary approaches, addressing current developments in institutions, legal systems, political power, and international affairs.

Argument
The Journal of Law, Society & Authority (JLSA) invites contributions for its Volume 16, Issue 1, scheduled for publication in March 2027. The journal welcomes researchers, academics, doctoral researchers, and specialists in legal, political, and social sciences to submit original research articles and scholarly contributions that can contribute to contemporary debates in the fields covered by the journal.
As a peer-reviewed and open-access scientific journal, JLSA publishes research addressing law, political science, international relations, as well as related issues within the social sciences and humanities. Particular attention is given to research that contributes to a better understanding of contemporary transformations in institutions, legal systems, power relations, forms of governance, and state-society relations.
The journal encourages contributions based on a rigorous scientific approach, a clearly defined research problem, and an appropriate methodology. Theoretical, empirical, comparative, interdisciplinary, and transnational approaches are particularly welcome when they contribute to illuminating contemporary issues in law, politics, governance, and international affairs.
Contributions may address national, regional, or international phenomena and may draw upon different disciplinary perspectives. Through this approach, the journal seeks to foster dialogue across disciplines and between different research traditions concerned with transformations in law, political authority, power, and society.
Contributions Sought
The journal particularly welcomes:
- Original research articles based on a clearly established scientific research problem;
- Theoretical and conceptual contributions offering in-depth reflection on concepts, theories, or contemporary transformations;
- Empirical and comparative research addressing institutions, public policies, legal systems, or international relations;
- Interdisciplinary research at the intersection of law, political science, international relations, and the social sciences and humanities.

- Law, legal systems, and institutional transformations;
- Constitutional, administrative, and international law;
- Human rights and fundamental freedoms;
- Political institutions, governance, and public policy;
- Political theory and contemporary political developments;
- International relations and global governance;
- International security and foreign policy;
- European politics and comparative politics;
- State-society relations and socio-legal issues;
- Contemporary transformations in political, legal, and international affairs.
This list is indicative and non-exhaustive. The journal remains open to contributions falling within its broader scholarly scope and capable of making a relevant contribution to contemporary debates in law, political science, international relations, and the social sciences and humanities.

Languages of Publication
For this issue, manuscripts are accepted in French and English.
- Authors are expected to submit their manuscripts in clear and precise academic language, in accordance with scholarly publication standards in their respective fields.
- Authors are invited to submit original manuscripts that have not been previously published and are not under simultaneous consideration by another journal.

Peer Review Process
Each manuscript submitted to the journal first undergoes an initial editorial assessment to determine its suitability for the journal's scholarly scope, its originality, and its general compliance with the journal's editorial requirements.
Manuscripts retained after this initial stage are subsequently submitted to external double-blind peer review by specialists in the relevant field. The review process assesses, among other aspects, the relevance of the research problem, the originality of the contribution, the scholarly quality of the work, the strength of the argumentation, and, where applicable, the appropriateness of the methodology employed.

About the Journal
The Journal of Law, Society & Authority (JLSA) is a peer-reviewed, open-access scientific journal published biannually. It provides a scholarly forum for research and discussion on contemporary transformations in law, politics, institutions, society, and international relations.
The journal particularly values research based on an explicit scientific approach and making an identifiable contribution to the existing scholarly literature. It welcomes research from different national and regional contexts and encourages comparative analyses as well as interdisciplinary approaches.
