Abstract
Announcement
The colloquium is focusing on the changes that both health geography and spatial epidemiology are experiencing. The specificity of these fields is to integrate knowledge about how the physical and social environment and spatial interactions can determine health and health care issues. Spatial modelling, enriched by new sources of geographical information, tend to become a major tool to understand the complexity of these issues. Conceptually, three main stages can be outlined.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
Theme 1: from fieldwork to data
- Spatial sampling
- Health monitoring systems
- Remote sensing for environmental monitoring
Theme 2: observational studies and spatial analysis
- Landscape epidemiology
- Health risk mapping
- Space-time clustering
- Spatial statistics
- Multilevel statistical modelling
Theme 3: dynamic modelling and simulation
- Health services simulation
- Epidemic equation-based modelling
- Epidemic individual-based/network-based modelling
