Resumo

As part of the TL network to improve scientific progress in the field of transnational and mobility studies, we are launching the TL Working Paper Series. The aim of this collection is to disseminate scientific advances among colleagues and to the society at large in the field of transnational lives mobility and gender studies. We will include the TL working paper series on our website. Working paper proposals should contain methodological advances or empirical applications about transnational lives and family issues, as well as its economic impact on development. Papers must be genuinely original and unpublished. That is, not having been published or in press in any other journal.

Presentation :

The Transnational Lives, Mobility and Gender Network is pleased to announce its first Working Paper Series, whose aim is to improve scientific progress in the field of transnational and mobility studies. The purpose of this collection is to disseminate scientific advances among colleagues and to the society at large in the field of Transnational lives mobility and gender studies. TL working papers series will be approved for release by the network scientific committee. All researchers and students interested in this research area are welcome to join the network and propose papers in our WP series.

The Transnational Lives, Mobility and Gender network (TL network) has been formalized in Lisbon in 2010 as the principal result of the ESF Exploratory Workshop held at Institute of Social Sciences – University of Lisbon (ICS-UL).

All the academic researchers in the TL network are interested in the numerous aspects of transnational living and recognize how people, goods, money and ideas move across national boundaries engendering changes in relationships between individuals and institutions.

The TL network proposes an innovative approach and topic with a potential impact on transnationalism studies to reinforce the scientific background in this area whose principal impact is to consider the multiples effects of mobility in the individuals in the contemporary world.

The TL network is part of the Observatory of families and families policies in Portugal sited at ICS-UL.

How to submit a working paper?

The content of papers are the responsibility of individual authors.

Papers must be submitted to the WP Series coordinator (marzia.grassi@ics.ul.pt) and follow the Guidelines for authors:

Create a single file with a complete version of your paper (complete with cover page, bibliographic note, abstract, text, tables and figures, references, footnotes) following the submission guidelines for authors.
E-mail this single file to the Editor (marzia.grassi@ics.ul.pt)
Although there is no length limit, we prefer if you keep your manuscript between 30.000 and 100.000 characters, including all references, tables, figures, abstract, cover page and appendixes.

Updates :
When your paper is published in a journal, book chapter, or other printed form, please e-mail de editor with a complete citation.
If and when you wish the downloadable version of your paper to be removed from the Working Papers series (e.g. when it has been published elsewhere), inform the editor. If you send full publication information, this information will be posted in the place of the downloadable version.
