Abstract

L'Équipe de recherche sur le travail et la santé mentale (ERTSM) regroupe des chercheurs de l'Université de Montréal (École de relations industrielles, Département de sociologie), de Concordia University (John Molson School of Business), de l’Université Laval (Faculté de philosophie) et du Centre de recherche Fernand Séguin (Centre d'étude sur le stress humain). L'ERTSM est soutenue financièrement par les IRSC, le FRSQ, le CRSH et le FQRSC pour réaliser des travaux regroupés autour de deux axes de recherche : 1.  Épidémiologie sociale des problèmes de détresse psychologique, d’abus d’alcool et de consommation de médicaments psychotropes de la population active et 2. Prévention et intervention visant la résolution de problème de santé mentale au travail dans la main-d’œuvre. 

Announcement

The Research Team on Work and Mental Health (ERTSM in French) brings together researchers from the University ofMontreal (School ofIndustrial Relations; Department of Sociology),ConcordiaUniversity (John Molson School of Business), andLavalUniversity (Faculty of Philosophy).

ERTSM is funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), the Fonds de la recherche en santé du Québec (FRSQ), the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC), and the Fonds québécois de la recherche sur la société et la culture (FQRSC) to conduct research in two thematic areas:

  • The social epidemiology of problems related to psychological distress, alcohol abuse, and psychotropic medication use in the working population
  • Prevention and intervention approaches for managing workplace related mental health problems in the workforce.

Presentation

The grant program of the ERTSM aims at supporting second, third cycle and postdoctoral students whose work pertains to the thematic areas of research and work under the supervision of a researcher affiliated to the team.

Lafontaine Hospital (UdeM);Marie-Hélène Parizeau, Ph.D., Faculty of Philosophy (Laval);Vincent Rousseau, Ph. Deadline for application’s submission: March, 1st 2013

Grant amount: 30 000 CAN$

Criteria of qualification:

  • Be supervised by a researcher of the team for a research postdoctoral project pertaining to the team’s research topics.
  • Not having received a grant by another funding institution at the time of the application (subject to exceptions).

Awardee responsibilities

  • Commit to playing an active role in the team’s activities.
  • Commit to applying to a grant to at least one funding institution(IRSC, FRQS, CRSH, FRQSC or other) during the academic year during which the grant is awarded.
  • Commit to working full time on one’s research project.

Application procedure

Complete applications must include the following:

  • An abstract of the research proposal
  • A reference letter of the research director (supervisor)
  • Curriculum Vitae
  • A copy of certificates or student records

The evaluation of the applications is carried out according to the usual rules of the funding institutions.
