Abstract
La maison des sciences de l’homme Val de Loire, propose, un contrat post-doctoral en « humanités numériques » de 12 mois, à partir d’octobre 2013. L’« atelier numérique » mis en place en 2012 à la MSH Val de Loire a pour objectif de développer non seulement des services techniques liés au numérique mais aussi de produire une recherche de pointe dans le domaine des « humanités numériques ». Le post-doctorant aura une formation en sciences humaines ou en sciences sociales et sera titulaire d’une thèse dans les domaines qui impliquent le traitement de données dans un ou plusieurs des principaux formats : textes, images, bases de données relationnelles, langages standards.

Profile
The Atelier Numerique of the MSH Val de Loire, launched in 2012, aims to combine technical support activities with high level research in the field of the digital humanities.
We are seeking a post-doctoral candidate with a background and a PhD in the social sciences or humanities combined with experience of data processing, for example of text and images, combined with knowledge of geographical systems, relational databases, or standard programming languages.
English is required (both spoken and written), and a good understanding of French would be appreciated.

Tasks
The candidate should be able to initiate and foster cross-disciplinary reflections about the scope and practice of the digital humanities in collaboration with other members of the Atelier ; to organize seminars and tutorials ; to publish documents and reports about the Atelier's activities ; to participate in national and international networks.
Employment conditions
- Location: Tours, with frequent travel to Orleans
- Monthly stipend: 1900 euros net.
- 12 months, from October 2013 (conditional).
