Abstract
The Study Foundation of the Berlin House of Representatives offers grants for graduate students and young resesearchers from the USA, Great Britain, France, and the successor states of the Soviet Union who want to work on Berlin/Germany or to use research facilities in Berlin for all other topics.

The Study Foundation of the Berlin House of Representatives sponsors a scholarship programme for graduate students and young scholars of all fields from the USA, Great Britain, France, and the successor states of the Soviet Union who want to study or research in Berlin.
15 grants are awarded per year.
The Study Foundation was established in order to contribute to the further development of a generation of young scholars. The Foundation wants to strengthen long-term interest in and understanding of Germany in the aforementioned states.
eligibility criteria
The grants are awarded according to academic performance to graduate students having at least a Bachelor's degree, to doctoral students and postdoctoral fellows. The grants should be used to advance academic education at all universities and research institutions in Berlin.
The maximum age for applicants is 35 years. Students should have obtained a first academic degree (Bachelor) by the age of 25.
Award amount
The award amount varies according to the level of education.
The monthly rate amounts to 1.100 € for students and doctoral students, and to 1.630 € for postdocs.
The monthly grant rate includes the rent for an apartment in the International Study Center Berlin (330 €).
Housing allowances for other flats are not included. In addition, a fixed travel allowance is paid in order to travel to Berlin and back.

- invitation letter of a Berlin university teacher or scholar of a Berlin research institution
- two recommendation letters informing about the academic achievements of the applicant

Application deadline: December 15, 2015
The scholarship program will start on October 1, 2016; and end on July 31, 2017.
