    Spring School of the ERC Project « Mapping Ancient Polytheisms »

    The ERC MAP proposes, in collaboration with the French School at Athens, a thematic Spring School on the approach of the gods in the Ancient Mediterranean (names, representations, cult spaces, practices and actors), through the notion of "network". The latter will be considered both as a conceptual resource of heuristic and hermeneutic scope and as an analytical tool associated with specific methods, software and visualisations.

    Après une première édition en 2016 qui a porté sur des aspects géopolitiques, et une deuxième en 2017 traitant des autorités religieuses, la Summer School Islams et mondes contemporains 2018 veut aller au cœur des interrogations qui animent les familles de confession musulmane, les écoles ou d’autres structures qui accueillent des enfants et des adolescents, jeunes hommes et femmes de confession ou culture musulmane, à propos de la place qu'occupe l'islam dans les processus éducatifs, par le biais des normes et des valeurs véhiculées dans divers lieux de socialisations.

    Tools and Methods for the History of Churches between East and West (5th-19th century)

    This doctoral workshop will make it possible to relate compartmentalized historiographies even though they share a central and strong object, the Church, which is often treated only as a backdrop to history. The participants who will take part in this school will have the opportunity to see combined diverse and complementary approaches: social, normative, liturgical, political, orientalist. The participants will have access to the methods, the problematization and the last achievements of these different interdisciplinary approaches in the long term.

    Lors de cette Summer School, il sera question de faire un état des débats contemporains en France et en Belgique dans les milieux musulmans concernant les logiques de légitimation et dedélégitimation du savoir religieux et de l’autorité religieuse dans la pensée sunnite contemporaine. Il sera aussi question d’en analyser les enjeux principaux, en prenant en compte la diversité des positions et des courants, mais aussi les logiques dominantes et les concurrences et tensions.

    The doctoral workshop "A Connected Méditerranée. Anthropology of the Religions and the Introduction in the Digital Humanities " proposes a privileged setting of exchanges around the recent political changes in Méditerranée and a reflection on the place of the member of a religious order in these dynamics.
