Food Crises: Challenges, Innovations and Sustainable Change
From prehistoric times to the present, crises relating to military conflicts, climatic hazards, health challenges, harvest failures, economic decline, environmental change, geopolitical conflicts and many other factors have affected food systems in complex and varying ways, depending on specific constellations, local resilience and the timescales involved. The distinctive aim of this conference is to examine the “creative” and “constructive” potential of the relationship, specifically the extent to which crises can trigger innovation and sustainable change within food systems.

Revue « Afrique contemporaine »
Recent years have brought a dramatic upsurge in Africa’s gold output – boosting the export earnings and goverment revenues of producer countries, fuelling hopes of additional resources for development. But many also fear there could be negative spillovers, particularly in eroding stability and good governance, the so-called “resource curse”. These are just two facets of what is a wide debate debate, as the gold sector has multiple economic, political, environmental and symbolic ramifications. This issue of Afrique contemporaine aims to provide studies on different aspects, focusing as much as possible on the link between gold and the various forms of conflict.

the project to publish a joint dossier for the journals tic&société and Terminal offers a conceptual and methodological platform for exploring compatibilities and incompatibilities between the digital transition and the ecological transition. Our societies are faced with two major injunctions: the ecological transition and the digital transition. Digital transition and ecological transition are explored from multiple angles: social and environmental balance, actor strategies, territorial anchoring, innovation and transition dynamics, appropriation of knowledge, extra-financial information systems, regulatory instruments and governance.

« Revue internationale des études du développement » n°254
This issue is a continuation of the series of thematic issues that the Revue Tiers Monde, now the Revue internationale des études du développement has regularly published for 25 years on the subject of financial inclusion (no. 145, 1996; no. 172, 2002; no. 197, 2009; no. 225, 2016). This issue calls for original papers based on field research that contribute to knowing how the transformation of agricultural and rural systems in emerging and developing countries is financed, and more specifically, how farmers are financed. It aims, in particular, at delving into the new practices in the field of agricultural and rural financing, which is often marginalized in development financing policies.

This study day proposes to address several themes linked together by the relations that the French aeronautical industries have established and maintained with various countries and foreign aeronautical firms in a context of recovery, restructuring and development of this French industry. It is intended to highlight international industrial cooperation, its creation and implementation processes as well as the actors involved and their roles in these original partnerships. The aim of this study session is also to reveal the evolution of these forms of collective production and the specialisation of the actors involved during the period under consideration. Finally, it tends to show that far from being limited to industrial cooperation, the global ambition of French aeronautical firms also developed without foreign aid thanks to internationalisation strategies that evolved during the said period.

Conference, symposium - America
Brazil, an independent country ?
Rethinking “dependency theory” 200 years after 1822
On the occasion of the bicentennial of Brazil’s proclamation of independence (September 7,1822), this conference examines the paradigm of “dependency theory.” We will consider both how Brazilian intellectuals contributed to dependency theory and what their analyses offer for thinking about Brazil’s independence and place in the world today. The oeuvre of Brazilian dependentistas insisted on the impossibility of understanding the history of Brazil and Latin America without considering the complex dynamics between the national and the international, between domestic political and economic structures and the broader world system of which they were part. This conference, 200 years after Brazil’s formal independence, evaluates the promise and limitations of their analysis, at once historicizing dependency theory and using the authors associated with it to better understand the present.

The aim of this conference is to update and renew our understanding of women’s football and other ball sports. The aim is to analyse the issues at stake in terms of good practice and to observe the new representations that they give rise to. Beyond the obstacles and constraints that weigh on women footballers, or even ball sportswomen, the actions and experiences that allow them to develop will be defined and commented on. Both multidisciplinary and indisciplinary, this conference brings together researchers from various backgrounds as well as experts and professionals working in the field of women’s sports, including football. The aim is to change the focus and emphasise what works and what can be implemented in the long term.

We particularly aim at international, comparative perspectives that could help us take stock of novel ways of supporting CCE.

The craft industry and its companies: crossed views
Special issue of the journal “Entreprises & Histoire” (2024)
In the early 2020s, the craft industry can commemorate its centenary in France. This seems to be an appropriate moment toddle into its history and its place in Western economies. The aim od this call for paper is to shed light on the adaptation capacities of craft companies in the face of economic transformations and dynamism over the long term, but also to study the evolution of the researchers' view of craft industry, as a world of innovation. In order to shed light on the capacities of craft enterprises to adapt economic transformations and on the dynamism of the craft industry over the long term, but also to study the evolution of the researchers' view of the craft industry, as an endangered world to be protected or, on the contrary, as a new form of modernity. The ambition is to bring together different disciplines (history, economics, management sciences, sociology, anthropology, law...).

Discrimination, management and social movements in the sports world
International Journal of Sport Science and Physical Education
This special issue wishes to provide food for thought by bringing together relevant studies that aim to shed more light on the problem of discrimination. It aims to understand the ways in which this ‘field’ of professional and recreational sports operates and how it is implicated/characterized by racism and discrimination. How do the decision-making logics in sports organizations (leagues, clubs, public services, sports industries) produce (or challenge) discourses of discrimination, racism and glass ceilings, glass walls and/or sticky floors? What are the margins for minority ethnic (and majority) employees of the sports world (coaches, referees, selectors, sports agents, etc.) to maneuver, in particular those of a minority background who face discriminations?
