    Medical Data

    Work and cooperation

    Laboreal Dossier

If human beings are the result of a historical process and not the product of a pre-established plan, it is important to emphasize the significance of cooperative actions for their preservation throughout this process. A path in which work – as a constitutive element of our species – plays a decisive role in these actions. How has cooperation been taking place in formal and informal work activities? How have the current modes of management and their evaluation and training systems contributed to the construction or weakening of cooperative acts at work? What are the requirements to build cooperation?

Zone: the space of a life on the margins

    Espaces et sociétés

While the everyday of "suburban youth" occupies the attention of French sociologists, the other face of the youths that have been relegated to "dropouts" (“zonards”) remains virtually invisible in terms of the social sciences. This issue aims to provide a first synthesis of French work on “the zone” as an area of life on the margins, and a presentation of pioneering English-language research in this field of study. This will be explore the range or meanings of  experiments whose originality derives from a shared nomadic lifestyle, keeping a distance from institutions, as well as normative territories. The expected proposals will favor the investigation of spaces and the constituent cultures of dropouts (squatters, punks, ravers ...).

    Observation and its Angles

Call for papers from Espaces et Sociétés

A fundamental tool in the approach to space and in the relationships that societies maintain with it, direct observation or in situ is only simple in appearance Espaces et Sociétés thus invites authors to think about the way they have mobilized observation in their research. More specifically, we wish to explore the hypothesis that the plurality of the theoretical and technical declensions of observation are particularly striking when this concerns spaces, their configurations and their uses. What status does observation grant to space? What are the original manners to grasp places and the social activities which produce them? What are the criteria of validity of this method? Which criticisms can we address to observation as a method ?

The problem of ethnographic and anthropological methodology

    Antropológicas Journal

The journal Antropológicas is accepting proposals for publication in its next issue that will address the problem of ethnographic and anthropological methodology. Manuscripts should be submitted to the page by the 28th of February of 2013. Antropológicas’ number 13th will address the problem of ethnographic and anthropological methodology, because since the academic statement of its field of knowledge, ethnographic practice and anthropological writing had many debates, both for the originality of the methodology and the scientific accuracy required by their professionals. Among social sciences, anthropology was the one where theoretical discussion about its rationale demanded a greater critical capacity, by placing into question its methodological grounds.
