  Comment une conception critique de l’histoire qui se veut libératrice entretient-elle pourtant l’effacement des femmes ? Et en retour, comment le féminisme se pose-t-il en outil critique des théories libératrices ? La revue L'Homme et la Société invite les auteurs de toutes les disciplines des sciences sociales et humaines à s’interroger sur ces questions en prenant pour objet les théories qui découlent du progressisme du XVIII^e siècle : le marxisme et le discours républicain, leur impact sur le féminisme et comment le féminisme leur répond sur un plan théorique comme pratique.

  Afro Literature Conference

  Cuando decidimos abordar el estudio de la “literatura africana”, nos enfrentamos a una serie de problemas, en tanto campo complejo de tensiones, de núcleos constitutivos, de perspectivas, inherentes a toda etiqueta formada por la palabra literatura y un gentilicio. Una dificultad no menor la encontramos en los planes de estudios de las carreras de Letras en Argentina cuyo “patrón cognitivo” (Quijano 2017) aún persiste dentro de los rasgos de un patrón de poder fundado en la colonialidad: el centro no ha sido del todo desplazado, para decirlo con wa Thiong’o (2014).  El eurocentrismo académico en nuestro país perdura en el escaso interés que el pensamiento africano y afrodiaspórico ocupa en las carreras de Humanidades y Ciencias Sociales, con destacadas excepciones siempre individuales o colectivas pero rara vez institucionale.

Dans cette perspective, cette journée d’étude entend réunir des historiens d’art, des chercheurs, mais aussi des critiques et des artistes, dans le but de définir plus précisément les contours d’une histoire de l’art écoféministe depuis les pratiques pionnières jusqu’aux formes les plus contemporaines.

  (Re)connaître le travail : figures des travailleur·euses de l’Antiquité à nos jours

  L’équipe des doctorant·es du Centre de recherche en histoire comparée européenne (CRHEC) consacre sa sixième journée d’étude aux figures des travailleurs et travailleuses reconnu·es comme tel·les de l’Antiquité à nos jours. Cette rencontre a pour but d’inviter les jeunes chercheurs et chercheuses à réfléchir au travail reconnu sur le temps long, en replaçant ses acteur·ices dans leur contexte politique, social et économique. L’objectif est d’interroger les rapports de distinction et de valorisation des travailleurs suivant la nature de leur activité. Dans ce cadre, la question du travail non reconnu, à l’instar du travail domestique, militant et invisibilisé sera abordée. Un intérêt particulier sera aussi accordé aux conditions d’accès au travail reconnu, à l’exemple de la formation professionnelle.

  Ce colloque entend mettre en lumière la multiplicité des parcours de compositrices des XX^e et XXI^e siècles. L’analyse de la visibilité ou de l’invisibilité des femmes et de leurs œuvres, l’évolution de leurs carrières, la construction des réseaux dans le monde professionnel de la musique (institutions de spectacles, ensembles, etc.), le sujet des droits d’auteur, mais également la mise en lumière des conditions et des facteurs favorables ou défavorables à leur présence, sont autant de questions qu’il convient d’interroger. Les interventions pourront porter sur des compositrices renommées ou moins célèbres, en centrant les réflexions sur les différentes étapes du processus de création de leurs œuvres.

  This issue of Quaderni storici aims to focus on the transitional phase, so to speak, the one in which contagion emerges, manifests itself, and acts, causing sickness and death, but without yet being understood, nor known in its pathological characters, etiologies, and therapies. What are the social practices - including institutional practices in their contextual genesis - acting at this historical juncture in which the concrete experience of illness collides with the absence of terms and interpretations to counter it? What cultural and social processes are activated to deal with something that is both concretely active and culturally incomprehensible? How do these processes involve sexuality and the history of the way in which it has been thought of, signified, and governed?

  Women’s narratives and European integration history

  The history of European integration and Europeanisation has developed into a varied field that has moved on from an initial focus on the vision and achievements of the founding fathers. However, even though women played a vital part in the European project launched after the Second World War, their role has yet to be fully explored. Women tended to remain in the background until they began to be more readily accepted as political leaders, particularly following the first European elections by direct universal suffrage in 1979 and the appointment of the first female European Commissioner in 1989. Against this backdrop, “adding a gender perspective to European memory” and history seems essential.

  Another discussion on the institutional position of the churches in relation to slavery will be resolutely avoided. What will be analysed is the concrete confrontation —or cohabitation— with slavery. What did missionaries know about their slave environment? How did they learn about it? How did they take a stand? How did they act–or not? Same questions as far as indentured labour and the colonial forms of forced labour were concerned. Were there confrontations, mediations and misunderstandings?

  Listening In: Conversations on Architectures, Cities and Landscapes 1700-1900

  Who do we listen to when we write histories of architectures, cities, and landscapes? How many women authors can we find among our sources? How many of them are cited by those whose research we read? We argue that women and other marginalised groups have always been part of conversations on architectures, cities, and landscapes - but we have not had the space to listen to them. This conference is an invitation to reconstruct such conversations, real, imagined, and metaphorical ones, taking place in the 18^th and 19^th centuries, in any region, in order to diversify the ways we write histories. Taking the art of conversation, integral as both practice and form to the period in Western thought, and repurposing it to dismantle the exclusivity of historiography, this conference calls for contributions which bring women into dialogue with others.

  This issue of Clio wishes to historicize the gender of speech in interaction with varying social spaces, from the most intimate to the most political. Our ambition is less to question the gender of language as a whole (feminist and queer research has analyzed language as both an object of power relations and the means of producing, transmitting and naturalizing symbolic domination, as well as a space and a tool for action). Instead, we would like to address the gender of speech and of the people involved in communication, without focusing on the specific dimension of the voice.

Alors que l’équipe e.DuDeffand achève l’inventaire des quelque mille cinq cents lettres composant ce corpus, nous souhaitons nous interroger sur le potentiel du support numérique et de sa dimension multimédiatique, ainsi que sur celui du rassemblement d’ensembles épistolaires ayant été, pendant plus de deux siècles, édités de façon fragmentaire ou isolée.

  The Woman Journal is a periodical that focuses on notions of gender in regards to the spaces we inhabit, with an intersectional feminist perspective. The next issue’s theme is Toolbox: tools for emancipation. We love craft and do it yourself (DIY) and want the magazine to be a resource. Toolbox refers to the desire to share know-how, practices, tutorials and experiences, which we believe participate in creating community. Tools for emancipation refers to the way alternative organizations and experimentations of new societal modelsare shared and passed on.
