Meeting of Young Researchers on Heritage and Territory studies
EJI-PATER III (2022)
Published on Monday, September 05, 2022
Abstract
The aim of this meeting is to restore the opportunity to share scientific perceptions, projects, and research recently developed, or currently under development; counteracting the drop in output motivated by the pandemic and the impact of war in Ukraine. Centred on a unifying, convergent, and urgent line, the main theme for this meeting – Circular Ciência em Património e Território – results from its two core themes, that promote interdisciplinary discussion, involvement, and interdependence between different scientific areas, through the emerging and vital vision of circularity.

Argument
In this third edition of the EJI-PATER we resume the cycle of Meetings of Young Researchers on Heritage and Territory studies, hosted by Lab2PT in association with IN2PAST. Their aim is to restore the opportunity to share scientific perceptions, projects, and research recently developed, or currently under development; counteracting the drop in output motivated by the pandemic and the impact of war in Ukraine. Centred on a unifying, convergent, and urgent line, the main theme for this meeting – Circular Ciência em Património e Território – results from its two core themes, that promote interdisciplinary discussion, involvement, and interdependence between different scientific areas, through the emerging and vital vision of circularity.
Target audience and Goals
EJI-PATER is aimed at young researchers (recent graduates, master/PhD students and master and PhD with a degree obtained fewer than 6 years ago) and new professionals developing research work in scientific areas such as: Archaeology, Architecture, Visual Arts, Design, Geography, Geology, History.
It is an extended scientific sharing event that aims to promote discussion and reflection, serving as both a starting point and a bridge between generations of researchers. Thus, all the submitted proposals can benefit from co-authorship by advisors, senior researchers, professors, and professionals with relevant experience in a given field of action and research area. Keeping its focus on plurality, transversality, and coverage, the third edition of EJI-PATER intends to defy young researchers to overcome epistemological obstacles and benefit from sharing their work (methodologies, treatment, and results) with researchers from many different fields, exploring possible affinities between the diverse scientific approaches.
Meeting format
EJI-PATER format will consist of two days of meetings, which include a variety sessions, round-tables, and workshops, aimed at strengthening bonds between participants, and offering a favourable environment for young researchers to share their experiences and ideas. As one of Lab2PT's principles is to counteract unequal opportunities and exclusion, the event is free of charge to all participants.
Submission guidelines
We invite all interested researchers to submit their works in the following formats:
- poster (5-minute presentation);
- pitch (research projects – 8-minute presentation);
- communication (15-minute presentation);
- videos, documentaries;
- installations.
These formats can include individual (e.g., master, doctorates) and collective (e.g., projects) research works.
