Summary

This issue of Communication & Professionnalisation aims to study specifically the evolutions of the field of communication of public and for non-profit organisations that participate in the representation of public action. New uses lead us to question the definition of public communication, its role, the professionalisation of its actors and the challenges it faces.

Argument

This issue of "Communication & professionalisation" aims to study specifically the evolutions of the field of public and non-market organisations that participate in the representation of public action. New uses aim to question the definition of public communication, its role, the professionalisation of its actors and the challenges it faces.

"If the birthplace of politics is the space between men" (Anna Arendt), the challenge of public communication is to create this space in terms of temporality and mediation, by carrying the discourse and reporting the reactions in order to bring out a re-presentation that will bring the stakeholders together.

Four main themes are proposed in a non-exhaustive way to structure the responses to the call.

What is the scope of the definition of public communication?What is the role of the Communication of public organisations between indifferentiation in the communication of organisations (for example in Spain) and a standard model (normative isomorphism) as for the Maghreb countries compared to France.

What is the place and role of public communication: is it being transformed under the pressure of the managerial model or under the societal injunction?Where to situate public communication and how to interpret its transformation?

What professionalization for communicators?The challenges and new watchwords of public action - communication factorsIn this last axis, we propose cross or critical views on the phases of introspection, reflection and anticipation. We invite you to question the impositions of managerial processes, which are increasingly present in a dominant top-down logic, in relation to their effects in terms of public communication.
