The aim of the conference is to provide an academic forum for students and young researchers working in religious studies and its auxiliary sciences, where they can present and discuss their current research topics and their initial results on a yearly basis, but in a different location every year.

The DOSZFiTO and the rectorate of Apor Vilmos Catholic College cordially invite All to the 5th Interdisciplinary Religious Studies Student Conference, which will take place between the 10th and 11th of November 2023, at Apor Vilmos Catholic College (2600 Vác, Schuszter Konstantin tér 1- 5.).

About the conference

The 1^st Interdisciplinary Student Conference for Religious Studies was organized in April 2018 by the Student Representatives of the Department of Religious Studies of ELTE. The aim of the conference was to provide an academic forum for students and young researchers working in religious studies and its auxiliary sciences, where they can present and discuss their current research topics and their initial results on a yearly basis, but in a different location every year. In this spirit, our event was organized for the first time in 2018 at the Religious Studies Department at ELTE. For the second time in 2019, the conference was by the Department of Religious Studies at the University of Szeged. In 2020, our third academic forum took place at the Department of Liberal Arts of the Károli Gáspár Reformed University. Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, 2021 went by without a conference, but in 2022 we reignited our tradition, by hosting our conference at SZTE for a second time.

One year later, in 2023, we invite all interested parties to the 5th Interdisciplinary Student Conference for Religious Studies, – hosted this time by the Apor Vilmos Catholic College. We encourage all undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students, as well as young researchers in the field of Religious Studies or its auxiliary sciences to submit their presentations using the registration form below.

As in previous years, we aim to provide opportunities for those who wish to present in English. In such cases, please send your abstract and introduction in English.

The conference will be held in physical form only and participation is FREE!

Please complete the online registration form above in its entirety and attach your abstract of up to 500 words, complemented with 3-5 keywords in .docx format. For accompanying and interested parties, free registration and access to the presentations and extracurricular activities will be provided on-site throughout the entirety of the conference.

Deadline for abstract submission: 31 August 2023

The detailed conference program will be published after 30 September 2023.
