The special issue aims to gather contributions from various stakeholders in the field of Human Rights and Business, with a particular emphasis on the Political Economy of human rights regulation in Latin American business activities. The interest of this special edition of Homa Publica in examining regulation within the deeper framework of political economy guiding the region in the second decade of the 21st century. This period begins with windows of opportunity for Latin American reformism while immersed in a turbulent international environment and crises that have particularly inhumane effects on our territories (mass exoduses, climate crisis, colonial, racist, and patriarchal inequalities).

Homa Publica Journal, a peer-reviewed open-access journal, invites scholars, professionals, researchers, advocates, activists, and communities affected by the practices of transnational corporations, as well as anyone interested in the debate, to submit scientific papers that analyze contexts of tensions and conflicts surrounding business activities in the region. These papers should either shed light on complex socio-economic phenomena within these contexts or provide insights into potential developments. Through these reflections, the aim is to inform or recommend the best ways to advance international political agendas (Guiding Principles and Binding Treaty) as well as domestic agendas (labor, pension, tax, trade reforms) that involve human rights in business activities in Latin America.

Articles can be submitted in Spanish, English, or Portuguese and will be published in the language in which they are submitted. Papers from authors in all fields of knowledge will be accepted, with a maximum of three co-authors per paper, and individual papers require a minimum doctoral degree for submission. Co-authored papers must include at least one author with a doctoral degree.

Submission guidelines

The submission deadline is open until October 15th.

Publication guidelines are available on the journal's website (homacdhe.com/journal).

Additionally, articles must be submitted through the website's system.
