Abstract

The aim of this symposium is to examine contemporary temporal evolutions in the fields of urban planning and development. It is part of the “UrbaTime. Les temps de l’urbanisme durable” research program (2018-2024), which offers a cross-disciplinary analysis of various contemporary urban planning concepts based on the short-term and the temporary, proposing a new way of thinking about the relationship between planning and time, and whose main results will be presented during the conference.

Presentation

The aim of this symposium is to examine contemporary temporal evolutions in the fields of urban planning and development. It is part of the "UrbaTime. Les temps de l'urbanisme durable" research program, which proposes a cross-disciplinary analysis of different contemporary urban planning concepts.

The colloquium aims to broaden the perspective and open a dialogue with other researchers integrating a reflection on time in different fields of urban planning and development. It is divided into 3 axes:

  • AXIS 1: Dealing with time: strategies, processes and relationships between players in the face of complexity and uncertainty
  • AXIS 2: Short-term/long-term: social, operational and institutional dynamics tested over time
  • AXIS 3: Circulation of knowledge about time in urban planning
