Abstract
The Historical Institute of the University of Wrocław, Poland (HI UWr), Depot History Centre, the International Federation for Public History, and the Commission for Public History of the Committee of Historical Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences invite students, PhD candidates and practitioners to participate in the seventh Public History Summer School. The event will combine lectures, workshops and debates concerning methodology and specific case studies delivered by specialists in the field, as well as presentations of individual and collaborative projects.

The Historical Institute of the University of Wrocław, Poland (HI UWr), Depot History Centre, the International Federation for Public History, and the Commission for Public History of the Committee of Historical Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences invite students, PhD candidates and practitioners to participate in the seventh Public History Summer School to be held in hybrid format (on-site and on-line), 17-21 June 2024.
We strongly encourage graduate and postgraduate students, professionals, as well as those without institutional affiliation but conducting interesting public history projects to submit their proposals. They may include (but need not be limited to):

- Ethical aspects of doing history
- Historical narratives
- History & politics
- History & memory
- E-history
- Digital humanities
- Oral history
- Visual history
- Museums, exhibitions, archives
- Festivals and reenactments
- History of education
- Historical journalism
- Popularisation of history

- Project management
Application guidelines
Eligibility :
- Students, doctoral candidates, professionals, and others conducting research in any area of public history
- Any nationality (Due to the military aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, we will not accept proposals submitted by the citizens of Russia.)
- The organisers reserve the right to accept a limited number of candidates and prioritise on-site presentations
To apply, send an abstract of your paper (max. 350 words) followed by a short biographical note - your education, current research, publications/major achievements and research interests.

before March 15, 2024
Schedule
- March 15, 2024 – deadline for sending paper proposals
- April 1, 2024 – notification as to whether your proposal has been accepted; publication of the preliminary summer school programme
- June 15, 2024 – deadline for registration if you do not present your project, but you would like to participate in the summer school; publication of the final summer school programme
- June 15, 2024 – let us know, if you need a certificate of attendance
- June 17-21, 2024 – the summer school
Fees
The conference fee is 90 EUR.
Conference materials, meals (lunches, coffee breaks, official dinner on the first day of the conference) and accommodation in university dormitories are provided.
The provided accommodation covers 4 nights (from 17 to 21 June) in a standard single room with a shared bathroom – one bathroom for two guests. Participants have to pay for their transportation, insurance, and any medical fees themselves.
