Abstract

Submissions are invited for the 19th Munin Conference on Scholarly Publishing, 26–28 November 2024. The Munin Conference is an annual event on all aspects of scholarly communication, with a focus on open science. This year's edition of Munin will take place in Tromsø, Norway, and will also be streamed. We welcome contributions on all aspects of scholarly communication. Submission formats include traditional conference formats such as presentations (20 minutes + Q&A) and onsite posters. In addition, we strongly encourage you to propose interactive sessions.

Submissions are invited for the 19th Munin Conference on Scholarly Publishing, 26–28 November 2024. The Munin Conference is an annual event on all aspects of scholarly communication, with a focus on open science. This year's edition of Munin will take place in Tromsø, Norway, and will also be streamed.

We welcome contributions on all aspects of scholarly communication, but we would like to highlight the following topics: 

  • Equity and diversity 
  • Diamond Open Access 
  • Reproducibility 
  • Open Education 
  • IPR & Open Science 
  • The role of research in tackling global challenges 

Submission guidelines

Submission formats include traditional conference formats such as presentations (20 minutes + Q&A) and onsite posters.  In addition, we strongly encourage you to propose interactive sessions (workshops, roundtables, panels, or other types of unconference sessions) for smaller groups, or as a plenary session. The proposed duration of the interactive sessions should be 90 minutes; if you envisage a longer session, it will be possible to run it in two parts of 90 minutes.

Abstracts (max 3000 characters, including spaces) must be sent in via Septentrio Conference Series.

  • Remember to add keywords.
  • For each contribution, at least one of the presenting authors must be onsite. When submitting your abstract, please indicate whether you will have digital co-presenters. 
  • Fill in ORCIDs (if available) and short bios (2-3 sentences) for each author.
  • If you are submitting an interactive session, indicate the preferred duration of the proposed session and whether you would need participants to prepare for your session, and in what way (watch a short video, read a paper, prepare questions or use cases, etc).

  • Notification of acceptance – 3 September 2024

Organizing Committee

It is the organizing committee of the Munin conference that is responsible for the selection of abstracts. The organizing committee consists of research support staff at UiT:

The conference’s international advisory board help the committee to select topics for each year’s conference and provide advice in difficult cases.
