Peer Review Process

At the Journal of Law, Society, and Authority, we are dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity and quality through our rigorous peer review process. This process is designed to ensure that all published research meets the criteria of scope, quality, originality, and relevance.

1. Initial Screening

Upon submission, manuscripts undergo an initial screening by our editorial team. This preliminary review assesses the relevance and scope of the manuscript, ensuring it aligns with the journal’s focus on legal and political studies.

2. Peer Review

Accepted manuscripts are then forwarded to the Editor-in-Chief, who assigns them to associate editors. Each manuscript is sent to two experts in the relevant fields for a comprehensive peer review. Reviewers evaluate the manuscripts based on several critical factors:

  • Scope: The relevance of the manuscript to the journal's areas of interest.
  • Quality: The overall standard of the research, writing, and presentation.
  • Originality: The novelty and significance of the research findings.
  • Accuracy: The correctness of the results and data.
  • Validity: The robustness of the methodology used.
  • Interest: The potential appeal of the manuscript to our readership.

3. Reviewer Feedback

The peer reviewers provide detailed feedback, which is crucial for enhancing the manuscript’s quality. The comments and suggestions from reviewers are forwarded to the authors by the Editor-in-Chief. This feedback is intended to guide authors in making necessary revisions.

4. Revision Process

If the decision is for minor revisions, authors are required to amend their manuscripts according to the reviewers’ recommendations. Authors must submit their revised manuscripts along with a detailed response addressing each comment provided by the reviewers.

5. Final Evaluation

Revised manuscripts are reviewed again by the original reviewers to assess whether the necessary changes have been made. The Editor-in-Chief, in consultation with the associate editors and reviewers, makes the final decision on acceptance.

6. Final Approval

The accepted manuscripts are finalized and approved by the Editor-in-Chief. Once all necessary revisions are completed and approved, the manuscript is prepared for publication.
