Abstract

Intersections is a digitally published bilingual (French and English) journal for refereed scholarly research in music. The journal aims to represent the diversity of current fields of research in music, most broadly defined, and welcomes submissions informed by all music-related disciplines, as well as multi- and interdisciplinary scholarship.

Founded in 1980 by the Canadian University Music Society (MusCan), it is published semi-annually with open access. The journal aims to represent the diversity of current fields of research in music, most broadly defined, and welcomes submissions informed by all music-related disciplines, as well as multi- and interdisciplinary scholarship. Intersections serves an international community of readers and authors, and is dedicated especially to promoting and disseminating Canadian scholarship and Canadian perspectives within both the national and global contexts.

Submission guidelines

There are no fees payable to submit or publish in this journal.

As part of the submission process you will be required to warrant that you are submitting your original work, that you have the rights in the work, and that you have obtained and can supply all necessary permissions for the reproduction of any copyright works not owned by you, that you are submitting the work for first publication in Intersections and that it is not being considered for publication elsewhere and has not already been published elsewhere.

Submission of around 7,000 words are accepted on a rolling basis

Articles, colloquies, interviews or reports on musical conferences held in Canada should send electronically to the English or French Editor, as appropriate.

Books and recordings for review should be sent to the English or French Review Editor, as appropriate.

Editorial Board

The editorial board functions as an advisory group to the editors-in-chief. It is currently composed of 16 researchers from various countries, all of whom are recognized experts in a music-related field. The editors-in-chief appoint the members of this committee for a period of 3 years, renewable several times. They seek to ensure a mixture of junior, mid-career, and senior scholars, and representation of expertise in a wide range of research fields.
