Abstract
Central European University Press' Critical Romani Studies Book Series invites manuscript submissions that contribute to the growing field of Critical Romani Studies through critical, interdisciplinary, and innovative scholarship. This series aims to engage with the intersections of race, ethnicity, gender, class, and other dimensions of marginalization, fostering dialogue between academic research, policymaking, and grassroots advocacy.

About the Series
ISSN: 2786-2925
The Critical Romani Studies Book Series, published by CEU Press, seeks to advance the understanding of the lived experiences, histories, and social realities of Romani communities worldwide. It critically examines systemic oppression and challenges traditional approaches to Romani Studies, promoting research that highlights structural inequalities, resistance, and transformation. The series welcomes manuscripts that engage with diverse methodologies, perspectives, and theoretical frameworks.
We are particularly interested in manuscripts addressing, but not limited to:
- Histories of Romani communities and their representation.
- Structural racism, anti-Gypsyism, and intersectional oppressions.
- Social, political, and cultural movements led by or impacting Romani people.
- Postcolonial, decolonial, and feminist approaches to Romani Studies.
- Policy analysis, advocacy, and community-led solutions to systemic inequities.
- Artistic, literary, and cultural contributions of Romani communities.
This book series aims to bring together emerging new interdisciplinary scholarship by Romani and non-Romani critical scholars within and outside of Romani Studies. The series galvanizes cross-dialogues between various regions, disciplines, ideas, approaches, and methodologies to expand the spatial-temporal and conceptual realm of critical Romani Studies. The book series critically examines the intersectional racialization of Roma as well as different forms of deep-rooted patterns of structural racial/classed/gendered exclusions, oppressions and inequalities.
