The European branch of the Society for Court Studies is delighted to announce a call for proposals for the 2025/26 programme of the Virtual Scholarship Series.
What is the Virtual Scholarship Series?
The series provides a platform that supports scholars in sharing their research, fostering professional engagement, acquiring new knowledge, and developing skills. The series also highlights interdisciplinary research and topics that are thematically connected to court studies. The series takes place through various formats: research presentation seminars, panel presentations, roundtable discussions, or workshops. The virtual seminars are held each month on the third Thursday at 18:00 CET.
Submission guidelines
If you are interested in giving a seminar presentation about research being developed, panel presentation, organising a roundtable, or conducting a workshop, please send a proposal/recommendation to europe@courtstudies.org. We are particularly interested in proposals that feature research on courts and colonialism, sexualities, and interregional perspectives over time. Additionally, we welcome proposals from researchers across disciplines that are relevant to court studies, including historical social networks and material culture. Proposals should be no more than 300 words max. All queries or ideas should be sent by email to the European branch (email above).
For panel presentations, roundtables or workshops, include content, aims/objectives, length and arrangements, names of all participants, and recommend a panel chair
For consideration in the 2025/26 series, proposals/recommendations must be received
by 20 Mai 2025.
After this date, we will continue to accept proposals/recommendations for ongoing consideration.
