Abstract
Following the first Τ Ε Κ Μ Η Ρ Ι Α Meeting, held in October 2023, and the publication of the Proceedings in December 2024 (https://shorturl.at/FQXE6), the initiative comes to its second edition, offering once again a space for exchange, confrontation and discussion in the wake of interdisciplinarity. Subject of this second Study and Research Meeting will be Greeks and Local Historiography.

Argument
Following the first Τ Ε Κ Μ Η Ρ Ι Α Meeting, held in October 2023, and the publication of the Proceedings in December 2024 (https://shorturl.at/FQXE6), the initiative comes to its second edition, offering once again a space for exchange, confrontation and discussion in the wake of interdisciplinarity. Subject of this second Study and Research Meeting will be Greeks and Local Historiography.
The topics of the proposals may include:
- Local Historiography and its elaboration: structure, characteristics, outcomes
- Construction of memories and identities of civic and ethnic communities
- Aspects and elements of Greeks’ religions mediated by the historiographical filter
- The writing of History: strategies and techniques for narrating events
- A Historiography in fragments: problems, challenges, approaches
- Foundations and Ethnicity in the interactions between Greeks and non-Greeks
- Writing the History of origins: the role of the community
- Antiquarian and political-institutional aspects (civic and ethnic communities)
- The genre Politeia and its developments
- From proverbs, dress, food and customs to historiographical writing
Submission and organisation guideline
The Conference will be held on 6, 7, 8 December 2025, in hybrid mode: in presence in Aula A. Fadda of the Convitto Nazionale Torquato Tasso, Salerno (in Largo Abate Conforti, 22) and remotely through a dedicated platform. Those who hold a Master’s Degree in Classics or History or are about to obtain it, PhD students and PhDs are invited to participate.
To participate with a paper, it’s required to send an abstract of up to 500 words, equipped with a title, five keywords, and accompanied by a concise curriculum vitae et studiorum, to this e mail address: tekmeria@unisa.it ,
by 30 June.
Abstracts can be sent in Italian, English, French, German, or Spanish. The result of the selection will be announced in a short time.
No registration fee is required.
The Organization Committee will offer participants a courteous sign of welcome, but travel, food, and lodging expenses will be their responsibility.
The Study Meeting will be structured in thematic sessions. Each talk will last 30 minutes; a discussion moderated by the Session Chair will follow at the end of each session to encourage participation and collaboration on all topics.
The Conference will start with an opening paper by a Keynote Speaker and end with a final discussion moderated by a Chair who will draw Conclusions.
Publication in the Conference Proceedings is planned for Contributions that will pass a rigorous double-blind peer review process.
