Abstract
The fourth edition of the International Congress of Paleography and Diplomatics, promoted by CIDEHUS – Interdisciplinary Center for History, Cultures, and Societies at the University of Évora, will be held once again this year in the historic city of Évora. The event will bring together various disciplines that focus on different aspects of documentary sources, such as Paleography, Diplomatics, Sigillography, Codicology, and Philology, promoting the sharing of studies, methodologies, and contemporary challenges.

IV International Conference on Paleography and Diplomatics to be held in Évora in October 2025
On October 7 and 8, 2025, the city of Évora will host the IV International Conference on Paleography and Diplomatics, promoted by CIDEHUS – University of Évora. The event, which will now be held every two years, brings together researchers, teachers, students, and technicians from the fields of Paleography, Diplomatics, Sigillography, Codicology, Archival Science, Philology, and other related disciplines, with the aim of discussing current challenges and advances in these scientific fields.
All scientific communications will be presented in person in Évora: on the 7th, at the Évora Public Library; and on the 8th, at the Colégio do Espírito Santo of the University of Évora. Attendance at the congress will be possible in a hybrid format, upon prior registration, with live streaming of the sessions. Presentations may only be made in person and in Portuguese, Spanish, or English, with the use of slides in English being mandatory.
Building on the success of the three previous editions (2021, 2022, and 2023), the IV Congress also aims to strengthen the links between universities, researchers, and cultural institutions in different countries.
