Abstract
Théia. Revue d’histoire et histoire de l’art is calling for submissions for the Varia section of its third issue, to be published in November 2026. Interactions between history and art history, notably through visual and material cultures, form one of the magazine’s key bases.

Argument
Théia. Revue d’histoire et histoire de l’ art is an Open Access scientific journal dedicated to research in the history and history of art of the modern and contemporary periods (15th c. - 21st c.). Its aims to offer a rapid publication medium, following a rigorous process, by calling on the scientific community based on themes linked to the axes of the Laboratoire de Recherches en Histoire Rhône-Alpes (LARHRA UMR 5190). Interactions between history and art history, notably through visual and material cultures, form one of the magazine’s key bases. The journal encourages exchange and collaboration between young and established researchers, according to the Peer Review principle. Articles are published in one of the following five languages : French, English, Spanish, Italian, German.
The thematic issue 2026, coordinated by Audrey Colonel, Stéphane Gal and Erika Wicky focuses on “Experimental History and Sensoriality”.
In addition to the thematic issue, researchers are invited to submit articles for the Varia section. Varia may, for example, include reviews of study days or colloquia, or articles not related to the main theme of the issue.
Submission Guidelines
Articles, with a short bio-bibliography of the author, should be sent to the following address : Joana.Barreto@univ-lyon2.fr
First drafts of full Varia (between 35,000 and 55,000 characters) are due by February 27, 2026. Proposals will then be evaluated anonymously, on the basis of peer review, in accordance with the journal’s usual practice. Up to 10 captioned images (300 dpi) may be submitted, free of copyright.
