Abstract

This conference proposes an in-depth reflection on practices, mechanisms, and issues related to intercultural communication, diversity training, organizational transformation, and the impact of emerging technologies—particularly artificial intelligence. These profound shifts call for rethinking communication methods, managerial practices, and learning processes in order to promote agility, cohesion, and collective performance. From this perspective, thinking globally means articulating often disconnected dimensions to better understand the complexity of contemporary human and organizational interactions.

Argument

In a world marked by the increasing mobility of people, knowledge and technologies, issues of intercultural communication, diversity, and inclusion have become central to social, educational, and organizational dynamics. Reflecting on these transformations requires an approach that is both global and complex, as suggested by Edgar Morin when he states that : To think globally is not to think everything ; it is simply to attempt to think simultaneously about heterogeneous and contradictory elements in order to articulate them in their complementarity and differences, (Penser global, 2015, p. 27). It is in this spirit that the present international conference, entitled “Intercultural Communication in the Era of Innovation and Artificial Intelligence : Practices, Challenges, and Perspectives”, is being organized. At the heart of these transformations, intercultural communication emerges as a strategic driver of innovation and development. It goes beyond the simple transmission of information to become a process of co-constructing meaning, mutual adjustment, and mediation between actors from diverse cultural contexts. Far from opposing tradition and modernity, local and global, human and machine, it invites us to view diversity as a creative resource and a driver of collective performance. Within this framework, the university plays an essential role : as a space for training, research, and dialogue ; it contributes to developing the intercultural competence of tomorrow’s citizens—capable of collaborating, innovating, and engaging in a diverse world. At the same time, contemporary organizations, both public and private, must reconcile cultural diversity with economic performance. This conference aims to foster interdisciplinary dialogue around new forms of interaction, pedagogical and managerial innovations, and adaptation strategies to address the challenges of globalization, digital transformation, and artificial intelligence. It invites researchers, practitioners, institutional leaders, and socio-economic actors to contribute to a collective reflection on the complexity of intercultural interactions in the digital and AI era.
