Abstract

Argument

The academic writer occupies a hybrid position, that of the critical creator and a critic of creation. As a professional writer, the intellectual writer tends to redefine the literary canons, yet they articulate a greater degree of repressed aspects of criticism. This enables an examination of the interrelationship between scientific knowledge and literary creation, the dual identity of the academic-writer, and the social functions of the academic under the characteristics of the writer. Consequently, this category of authors creates fictive works that appear to be an avant-garde with regards to contextual issues. The Cameroonian university is a community of teachers-researchers-writers who employ theoretical frameworks to interpret the world, shaping possible or plausible worlds according to their sensibilities and convenience through generations. Their contribution to literary production is significant. Through this medium that we are able to observe the effectiveness of creative activity (writing and teaching the art of writing) as well as the result of creations by those who are mainly supposed to be analysts and critics of interpretation of the work of other creators is perceived.

The objective of this project is to compile texts without the imposition of any particular focus or disciplinary restrictions, thereby facilitating an opportunity for discovery and reflection on literary identity. However, given the extensive nature of the corpus, proposals may consider an author's complete works, a theme shared by several authors, a study by academic area, the study of a generic unit, or epistemology. Thus, analysis may question the nature of the productions, contexts, themes, poetics, illustrations, languages of writing, etc., of these free-thinking authors (?). Furthermore, the social life of these works, i.e. their reception, should be observed in so far as factors such as visibility, profitability, censorship, awards, etc. become the determining criteria of a definition, a school, or a way of thinking about the book industry. The development of articles will be informed by a corpus consisting of literary genres including, but not limited to, oral narratives, poetry, drama, novels and short stories.

A generation of intermediate builders of higher education (Ongoum Louis-Marie, Nanga Bernard, Bole Butake, Pabe Mongo, Nol Alembong, Kamto Maurice, Fame Ndongo Jacques, Eno Belinga Samuel-Martin, Doho Gilbert, Dong Aroga, Mono Ndzana Hubert, Mendo Ze Gervais, Ngijol Ngijol Pierre, Kayo Patrice, Tsala Théodore, Abega Sévérin Cécile, Besong Bate, Nkemngong Nengasong John, Abomo-Maurin Marie-Rose, Matateyou Emmanuel, Mvogo Faustin, Kum'a Ndumbe III Alexandre, Meto'o Maxime Pierre, Kuitche Fonkou Gabriel, Ayissi Lucien, Bingono Bingono François), could also be considered. However, the focus will be directed towards the emerging generation of authors who are confronted with current challenges, both academic and social in nature.
