Abstract

Mos Historicus : A Critical Review of European History invites researchers to submit original articles to its permanent, year-round Repository for Non-Thematic Submissions. As a Diamond Open Access journal published through the National Documentation Centre (EKT) and the University of Athens, it offers an ongoing forum for innovative historical studies outside of specific thematic issues. Submissions undergo a double-blind peer-review process and are free of publication charges. While the repository is open continuously, articles intended for consideration in the upcoming 2026 review pool should be submitted by 14 June 2026.

Presentation

Mos Historicus : A Critical Review of European History invites authors and researchers to submit original, well-documented, and carefully written articles to its Repository for Non-Thematic Submissions.

The Repository is open throughout the year and offers authors the opportunity to submit historical studies that are not necessarily connected to the thematic focus of a specific issue. It is designed as a permanent space for articles that introduce innovative interpretations, engage critically with historiographical debates, or bring forward new questions, sources, and approaches within the field of European History.

All submissions must comply with the journal’s temporal, geographical, and scholarly scope, as well as with the official author guidelines. Indicatively, articles should be between 5,000 and 8,000 words, including footnotes and excluding appendixes and the bibliography, and they should be submitted anonymously in docx. format either via EKT eJournals platform by selecting the “Article Submission” section, or via mail to Mos Historicus. Manuscripts are evaluated by the Editorial and Scientific Committee, according to the journal’s editorial standards and peer-review procedures. Mos Historicus is a Diamond Open Access journal : publication is free of charge for authors, and published articles are freely accessible to readers.

Authors are encouraged to visit the journal’s website for further information regarding the types of articles accepted, submission categories, formatting requirements, and editorial procedures.

At the same time, authors should note that the call for articles for the journal’s forthcoming thematic issue, “Rethinking Work and Labour History,” is currently open. Articles intended for consideration in the next issue — whether submitted in response to the thematic call or through the Repository for Non-Thematic Submissions — should be sent by 14 June 2026. After this date, new submissions may continue to be sent through the Repository and will be considered for publication in subsequent issues.

By maintaining this open repository, Mos Historicus seeks to broaden scholarly exchange beyond the limits of individual thematic issues and to create a flexible forum for emerging and established historians working on European History. The Repository allows valuable contributions to be considered on a rolling basis, encouraging submissions whenever authors are ready to share their work with the academic community.
