Les principaux objectifs de la conférence sont :

• promouvoir l’archéozoologie en tant que contribution importante de l’archéologie préhistorique et historique mais aussi de l’histoire de la biodiversité ;
• renforcer les interactions entre les archéozoologues des différents continents, en particulier ceux qui se trouvent dans des situations d’isolement ; la conférence de 2010 s’attachera particulièrement à donner la parole et à tisser des liens plus étroits avec les archéozoologues d’Europe centrale et orientale et d’Asie, sans oublier l’Amérique latine, où s’est déroulé le précédent colloque ICAZ ;
• promouvoir l’archéozoologie des sociétés de chasseurs-cueilleurs.

Nous lançons la 3e circulaire en ligne de cet événements, afin de recueillir les inscriptions définitives et les dernières propositions de communication pour la session générale.

GENERAL SESSION (S5-2 & S6-3) : CALL FOR PAPERS AND ABSTRACTS

The call for papers (oral or poster) is open only for the general session and will be closed on Wednesday 31 March 2010.

The general session will comprise a total of 80 presentations, 39 of them oral, the rest being poster presentations.

Proposals submitted for the general session before 20 November 2009, as well as proposals re-directed from a thematic session, will have priority.

That said twenty to thirty free slots are still open in the general session either for oral or poster presentations.

The Conference Organizing Committee reserves the right to reject paper/poster proposals that are deemed not relevant to the conference. No individual may be first presenter of a paper/poster more than twice, either in the general or in the thematic sessions (see CONFERENCE GUIDELINES : http://www2.mnhn.fr/archeozoo-archeobota/?CONFERENCE-GUIDELINES).

The Organizing Committee will inform the delegates of the acceptance of their proposal and its status (poster or oral presentation) shortly after 31 March. Delegates will then have until Friday 30 April to complete their final registration if they haven’t done so before.

The final programme of sessions, with titles and abstracts of presentations, will be posted on BoneCommons (http://www.alexandriaarchive.org/bonecommons/) before *1 July 2010*. These will be available for everyone to read and comment upon. Presenters are welcome to upload any other content (images, slides, text) related to their papers or posters, either before or after the conference. However , this is entirely up to the contributor and is not required by the Organizing committee. Assistance will be available during the conference if you have digital content you would like to share on BoneCommons.

The final program of sessions, with titles and abstracts of presentations, will, of course, be printed in a booklet which will be available free to all delegates from the registration desk on arrival at the conference venue.
