Call for papers for volume 4, n°1(7)/2011 « ESSACHESS »
The present and future of televisionCoordination:
- Delia BALABAN (Babes Bolyai University of Cluj, Romania)
- Wilfried KOEPKE (University of Applied Science of Hanover, Germany)
The papers may focus on the tendencies in the development of television from different points of view. Quantitative and qualitative methods such as surveys, interviews, content analysis and observation can be used in order to carry out the research. It is relevant to see how television contents changed in the last few years and what challenges were faced. What are the new types of television shows that are currently successful and what types of audience do they serve? An international comparative perspective is desired.
Television in the classical sense faced a dramatic loss of audience. It concerned especially the young generations who are using primarily the Internet. This is the reason why the majority of television shows are also present on the Internet. It is interesting to anticipate how far will go the interference between television and Internet in the future.
The aim of the journal ESSACHESS - “The present and future of television” – is to provide an international perspective on the empirical and theoretical works in this field.
All scholars and researchers with an interest in these subjects, are invited to submit papers. Their contributions can be in the form of:
- theoretical studies or articles adding new insights to the debate in the literature;
- original empirical research;
- case studies.
