Admission Requirements
- PhD;
- Experience in the different areas related with Heritage;
- Publications in International Journals with referees;
- Proved experience in investigation and participation in international projects;
- English language fluency (written and spoken);
- Availability to reside in Portugal;
Preferential requirements
- Additional trainig (post-doc) in Cultural Heritage subjects;
- Training and/or proved skills in the area of Digital Humanities;
- Capacity (as proved by publications or projects) to deal with the theoretical aspects of the processes of patrimonialization and the evaluation of their impact on communities;
- Competence (as proved by publications or projects), in digital documents and field information management;
- Ability to do fieldwork, namely of an ethnographic character;
- Competence and willingness, duly demonstrated in the motivation letter, or in the project to be submitted, to rethinking and to promoting the Intangible Heritage related museums’ role;
- Ability to deal with Intangible Heritage in assuring its projection towards public spaces;
The mentioned competences should be demonstrated through two documents to be submitted:
- A motivation letter exposing the reasons for the special interest in this post and
- A Work Project with up to 2000 words, which should connect the above mentioned aspects with the achievement indicators required by the CIDEHUS’ Strategic Project, with a horizon of a year, renewable.
Candidates selected to integrate the final short list will be asked to expose and debate their work project in a meeting with the Jury.
Working Program
i) Training: Support to advanced training, particularly in online courses.
ii) Fieldwork: Intangible Heritage resources’ inventorying in the South of the country. Analysing patrimonialization processes, namely the way they are or were seen by the concerned communities and publishing the results of that reflexion.
iii) Organizing scientífic and technical meetings, in order to make the point on the current research. Studying the ways in which regional museums have integrated Intangible Heritage in their activities and proposing concrete alternatives to reinforce that integration.
iv) Organizing a wide debate concerning the relationship between Intangible Heritage and public and other spaces, aiming at preserving and enhancing that relationship.
v) Cooperating in the functionning and the growth of existing international networks.
vi) Regularly submitting results of these activities to reference journals.
Relevant Legislation
The fellowship will be attributed through a contract between the University of Évora and the selected candidate, in the terms of “Regulamento de Bolsas de Investigação da Universidade de Évora (Ordem de Serviço nº1/2011)”, according to the “Estatuto do Bolseiro de Investigação Científica (Lei nº40/2004 de 18 de Agosto)” and the “Regulamento de Bolsas e Investigação” da Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia, as presently valid.

Workplace
The fellow will work at CIDEHUS – Centro Interdisciplinar de História, Culturas e Sociedades da Universidade de Évora, under the scientific supervision of Professor Filipe Themudo Barata.
Duration of the Fellowship
one year, beginning in September 2015, renewable for a maximum of six years. The fellowship will not be linked to the above mentioned project, beyond the period of this project’s eligibility.
Amount of the Fellowship
The monthly subsidy will be of 1.495,00 €, to which insurance costs will be added, in conformity with the fellowships’ table as they are directly attibuted by FCT, I.P. in this country. (See

Selection criteria
1st Phase:
- Curriculum evaluation (from 0 to 50 points) + project (from 0 to 40 points) + motivation letter (from 0 to10 points);
2nd Phase:
- Interview with candidates (maximum 7) having obtained the highest number of points during the first phase. The interview may take place through videoconference or via Skype (from 0 to 100 points).
The fellowship will be attributed, depending on the fulfillment of the above described requisites, on the reception of all documentation required, on the scientific evaluation and on the financing institution’s budget availability.

Form of advertising / notification of results:
The final results of the evaluation will be published in CIDEHUS, Palácio do Vimioso of Évora University, through list sorted by final score obtained, and all candidates notified by e-mail.
Deadline for application
The call will be open from the
19 June to 6th July 2015
and the selection results will be published before the end of July 2015.

The application must include the following documents:
- Detailed CV (must mention the academic degrees, scientific areas and the marks obtained in the bachelor, master, doctoral and later training experiences that eventually gather);
- Simple photocopy of certificates;
- Motivation letter;
- Research project, written with a maximum of 2000 words, which should connect the proposed tasks with the CIDEHUS Strategic project.
