First results from the European Social Survey (ESS) round 7

Focused on the attitudes, beliefs and behaviour patterns of European people, the European Social Survey data is a substantial resource for researchers providing valuable information to public decision makers.
On Monday 24th of October 2016 – 3pm, the European Social Survey and the PROGEDO large infrastructure will discuss social inequalities in health with international experts :
- Rory Fizgerald, Director of the European Social Survey
- Terje Andreas Eikemo, Scientific team of the European Social Survey health module, Professor of sociology - Norwegian University of Science and Technology
- Florence Jusot, Professor of economics - Université Paris-Dauphine
- Thierry Lang, Epidemiologist - Université Toulouse III - Paul Sabatier
- Alain Fontaine, Head of strategy and research programme - French Ministry of Health

Introduction to the ESS and its methodology ; presentation of Topline results of ESS round 7 Rotating modules « Social inequalities in Health »
- 3.10pm: Rory Fizgerald, Director of the ESS and Senior Research Fellow, City University London
- 3.25pm: Terje Andreas Eikemo, Scientific team of the ESS health module and Professor of sociology, Norwegian University of Science and Technology
Complementarity with SHARE survey data (4.10pm to 4.35pm)
- How Share survey data can enlighten the issue of Health inequalities, Florence Jusot, Member of the French SHARE Team and Professor of economics, Université Paris-Dauphine
Round Table (4.35pm to 5.35pm)
Discussion of the presented results and round table on health inequalities. Focus will be made on the use of European surveys data in health policy decision (including 25 minutes for questions)
