Antoine Vérard was a major Parisian editor and publisher of the late 15th and early 16th century and is well known for his production of illustrated books. After the death of Caxton, he became the main provider of French printed books for the royal library of Henry VII

A workshop about Antoine Vérard's early printed books will be held at the British Library on June 28th, from 2 to 4pm, with Louis-Gabriel Bonicoli (NY State University at Albany), Irène Fabry-Tehranchi (BL) and Karen Limper-Herz (BL). The workshop, held with a display of books published by Vérard, will include an introduction to the British Library early books collections and a discussion of Vérard's production, in particular his illustrated books, including deluxe illuminated copies printed on vellum.
