The University of Luxembourg invites applications for the following vacancy in its Center for Contemporary and Digital History (C2DH):

Doctoral candidate (PhD student) in the field of social and economic history (M/F)

  • Ref. I3-50010433 / OTP R-STR-8044-41-B Acronym: EHI
  • Initial 14 months fixed-term contract, renewable up to 4 years maximum
  • Full-time (40 h/week)
  • Student and employee status

The PhD student will be a member of the Center for Contemporary and Digital History (C2DH) at the University of Luxembourg. He/she will work under supervision of Ass-Prof. Dr. Benoît Majerus.

Your Role

  • Write a thesis on how cities were changed by the development of financial centres in the second half of the 20th century
  • Participate at the lighthouse project “Glocal histories of the financiarisation in the 20th century”

Your Profile

  • Master’s degree or diploma in History, Sociology, Anthropology or Geography
  • Language knowledge : command of the following languages: German, English and French
