The State Museum and Exhibition Center ROSPHOTO invites you to participate in the 10th annual conference “Expert Examination and Photography,” dedicated to expert research and technical and technological analysis of historical documents and photographs.

Presentation

The State Museum and Exhibition Center ROSPHOTO invites you to participate in the 10th annual conference “Expert Examination and Photography,” dedicated to expert research and technical and technological analysis of historical documents and photographs. The conference will take place on 27 November 2020.

The topics for the conference include:

• general methodology for expert research;
• history of photographic analysis, history of expert departments in museums, archives, libraries, and forensic institutions, history of the development of methods for expert examination of documents;
• theory and methodology for historical document examination, examination of museum objects and archeological artifacts;
• problems of interconnectedness of historical document expert examination and forensic examination;
• problems of authenticity of photographic documents, identifying and dating historical photographs, art historical and technical and technological research of  historical photography;
• technical and technological, graphological, and historical examination of documents, photographic and optical-electronic methods in document and museum object examination, equipment for scientific digitalization of artifacts;
• physical and chemical examination of modern and historical documents and their parts (paper, ink and dyes, leather, metal ornaments used in manuscripts, etc.)

Submission guidelines

Applications are accepted before 1 October 2020

at: fid2020@rosphoto.org. The application must include: applicant’s personal information (name, position, degree, name of applicant’s institution, contact info); paper title and abstract (up to 300 words).

Working languages of the conference are English and Russian.

If the epidemic remains in place the conference will be moved online.

The conference proceedings (Photography. Image. Document: www.fid.rosphoto.org) will be published in a volume to be indexed in RSCI.
