Presentation

Employee share ownership is generally put forward as a method of strengthening social ties in the company and a tool for sharing the fruits of growth. The Corona Virus pandemic has inflicted permanent financial damage on businesses and, unfortunately, forced them to consider worst-case scenarios to mop up liquidity problems. In order to reduce the social cost of the crisis and preserve jobs, companies are called upon, more than ever, to act in solidarity with their employees by promoting employee share ownership. This is the right time for companies to embark on the establishment and development of participation plans in order to enjoy the virtues and values of employee financial inclusion. It is about organizing the takeover of companies in difficulty by employees by using bank debt in accordance with the American ESOP model perfectly suited to SMEs in crisis. This virtuous system has several advantages: first, it aims to inject funds into the capital of companies weakened by the crisis. Then, it allows employees to become shareholders without committing their personal savings. And finally, the inclusive nature of ESOPs allows for better cohesion and improved organizational behavior.
