Presentation
APERA is a student association attached to the University Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne dedicated to archaeological research through experimentation. Following the publication of the first issue of the APERA Bulletin in December 2021, the association is calling for article submissions for Volume 2 on experimentation to be published in December 2022.
The first issue was devoted to the publication of the proceedings of the 3rd APERA Thematic Day dedicated specifically to experimental studies conducted as part of research on Protohistory. For its second bulletin, APERA will open the door to more diverse fields of research, with no period or geographical area being privileged. The aim is to bring together articles varying in length and content discussing archaeological experimentation in general or more specific case studies.
Articles may take the form of short summaries presenting future experimental projects. It will also be possible to publish experimental protocols, tested or not, or to detail the results of experimental work. We will also consider support for publication of theoretical or methodological reflections on experimentation. Examples include the impact of the use of modern materials, the question of the integration of the experimental approach into scientific research, the use of experimentation and reconstitution in mediation projects, etc. Contributions from students, researchers or amateurs are welcome.
Submission guidelines
Provisional articles may be written in English or French. Writing recommendations for authors are available on the APERA website.
You can also contact us and send your articles to bulletin.apera@gmail.com. The manuscripts received will be reviewed by the editorial committee composed of members of the association.
The deadline for submission of articles will be July 1, 2022.
